about us

“We have the most wonderful residents and great staff at Mercy. Together we are on a journey of greater holiness and wholeness”  – Sister Patty

At Mercy Retirement & Care Center, residents and staff form a vibrant community based on friendship, love, compassion, and spirituality. To walk through our doors is to enter a home, and to join our community is to become a part of
our family.

Established in 1872 by the Sisters of Mercy, our philosophy of care is based upon the enduring principles of our founder. We celebrate the individuality of each person and honor the inherent worth of all people. It is a tradition of dedication and service that has seen generations of families find comfort in our community, and staff members with decades of commitment to our goals. As a faith-centered, non-profit organization, Mercy fosters an environment that accommodates the many beliefs of our residents. We are a non-denominational community open to all faiths.

Mercy’s gracious, six-floor complex offers panoramic views of the Oakland Hills, San Francisco, and the Bay. The palm tree lined campus affords residents, friends, and family members comfortable courtyards, patios, and other gathering places. Daily life is filled with meaningful activities and interactions.

We invite you to spend time with us and see why Mercy is so much more than a collection of people, and provides so much more than a range of care services. Mercy is a place to call home.
